The event will be held at The Edward C. Smith Civic Center in Uptown Lexington, NC, on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 7 PM.
TICKETS WILL GO ON SALE FEBRUARY 1.
Dance performances will feature the talents and legacies of Suzy Sheets and Meredith Worley highlighting their years of dedication to teaching dance. Performances will be by alumni of Sheets' Dance Academy, as well as alumni and current students of CrossMovement Dance and Lexington Senior High School.

TICKETS WILL GO ON SALE FEB. 1. Proceeds will benefit The Evelyn Harris Performing Arts Scholarship, which awards scholarships to Davidson County Students who will pursue the performing arts at a higher level learning institution. The scholarship honors the legacy of Evelyn Long Harris, who poured her love of the arts into countless local youth through Lexington Youth Theatre and other organizations. A portion of the proceeds will go to local dance scholarships.

Suzie Sheets
Founder/Director of Sheets Dance Academy for 30 years
Suzie Sheets, originally from Shelby, NC, grew up immersed in the world of dance at her mother’s studio, Welch School of Dance. She attended the NC Governor’s School for Dance before pursuing Animal Science at NCSU, where she also danced with the Raleigh Civic Ballet. In 1979, Suzie married Glenn Sheets and moved to Lexington, where she began teaching under Douglas Everhart. In 1983, she founded Sheets Dance Academy, where she taught ballet, tap, and jazz for 30 years, and directed numerous productions, including Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Coppelia, Firebird, The Nightingale and the Rose, Giselle and Midsummer's Night Dream.
Her career highlights include imparting her love of dance to hundreds of young artists, choreographing for Candlelight Dance, Actors Charity Theatre, Lexington Youth Theatre, Friends of the Theatre, and liturgical dance at Grace Episcopal Church and the High Point Ballet.
Suzie now keeps herself happily busy with her husband Glenn, their 2 grown children, Logan Sheets and Hillary Bowers, and their five grandchildren (Tanner, Tucker, Aiden, Trinity and Landon).
Meredith Worley
Founder, Director of CrossMovement Dance
Meredith Worley, a passionate dancer since age 3, graduated from UNC Charlotte with a degree in Dance Education. She trained under renowned instructors and was a member of the college dance team. After college, she taught at Covenant Classical and was the first Dance Education teacher at Lexington High School, where she was named Teacher of the Year in 2023.
Meredith founded CrossMovement Dance (CMD) in 1997, initially based in various locations before moving to their own studio in Uptown Lexington in 2022. CMD’s mission is to provide quality dance education while honoring God through the arts. Meredith’s heart for community involvement is evident through outreach programs, including performances at local events and partnerships with organizations offering free classes.
As president of the Edward C. Smith Center Board, Meredith collaborates with local artists and continues to shepherd dancers to pursue Jesus through dance. With over 30 years of teaching experience, she is dedicated to inspiring others through creativity, discipline, and faith. Meredith has been married to Scott for 32 years and has 5 children, a daughter-in-love, and 2 grandchildren.
